Give A Day. Get A Disney Day.

Our family LOVES Disney! Disney movies, Disney Shows and Disneyland!
Taking our family of 5 to Disneyland is not a cheap thing to do.
This year the park, in the hopes of inspiring volunteerism, offered a free ticket to any Disney park in return for a day of community service.
That was an opportunity our family could not pass up! So Ceasar sighed us up.
Only Me, Ceasar & Jesse were of age to participate
Gardening at Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery was our task

Me and Jesse hard at work pulling weeds.
Jesse lending a hand.
For a teenager he was surprisingly helpful and didn't complain the entire day.

Keeping the momentum going!

Taking a break.

Finished!

They use no pesticides in that garden and with all the rain we have had the weeds were out if control.
They grow vegetables there and the food is harvested by volunteers and distributed to the homeless.

I was posed the question, "If you are getting a free ticket to Disneyland is it really volunteering?" After spending a day helping this is my answer.
Most definitely. Most of the families out there worked hard. We all learned about our community and plan on returning and helping this organization again.
It was nice to feel and be a part of my community and help those who need it.
